I spent the past week doing absolutely nothing, because it was Reading Week. I had intended to do some catching up/studying ahead, but in the end just couldn’t force myself to be productive at all. Which is FINE I GUESS because our profs have all made a point of telling us not to study during Reading Week, take a break, we deserve it! But do I though? 🤔 I haven’t exactly been keeping up with the self-study schedule that each course expects from us.
Standards I Read Today
- I finished reading Chapter 3 of the tax textbook yesterday, and finished Chapter 19 today. They were both mostly refreshers of content I’d learned earlier, so not too bad.
- I also started on the ACC 650 readings for this week by reading CAS 700 and CAS 701, which were about forming the audit opinion and writing the auditor’s report. It’s kind of nice to start seeing pieces tie together into the overall audit picture.
- Tomorrow, I’m planning to read CAS 705, which is about modified opinions. Is it fucked up that I’m kind of excited about it? I mean, we’ve seen so many references to modifying opinions in the standards we’ve read so far, and my eyes always glazed over those words since I didn’t really know what a modified opinion is, other than it’s not good. But tomorrow I’ll finally found out!
