I’ve consistently had trouble staying within the time limit on our Day 1 simulation cases. I get a lot of NCs for not tying my quants and quals together and not presenting an adequate conclusion.
I watched the Deloitte CFE Approach: Day 1 Approach recorded session on Saturday (I know, I know, shouldn’t be studying on Saturday, but I didn’t study at all on Monday so I’ll consider a half-day of studying on Saturday to be a makeup day). Based on Angela’s comments from the session, as well as the old feedback from my MAcc markers, I’m going to implement a new strategy going forward:
Don’t spend so much time on Quants for each alternative—budget 12 minutes, don’t go more than 15 minutes (hard limit) on each one. The time can be better spend beefing up the conclusion and next steps for each alternative, and also creating more links between points in the situational analysis and the analysis itself.
